Peter is the Executive Director of the Web3 Foundation, where he works on supporting the development of the next generation of distributed technologies. As a principal engineer at Parity Technologies, he contributed to the Parity Ethereum Client development, in particular looking at consensus algorithms, as well as driving enterprise solutions built on the Parity technology stack. He has given multiple talks at conferences (BPASE, DevCon, EdCon) and meetups.

Andrea Zitna is the Chief Revenue Officer at Elvie, a British femtech brand developing smarter health and lifestyle technology for women. Andrea joined Tania Boler (Elvie founder-CEO) in early 2015 to help setup all non-product related aspects of the business. Prior to Elvie, Andrea worked at Nectar (now Aimia) and as a consultant at McKinsey & Company, within their consumer & retail practice. Andrea holds MBA from Harvard and MPhys from Oxford.

Ben Goertzel is the Chief Scientist of Hanson Robotics, a Hong Kong robotics company that creates the world’s most advanced humanoid robots. He is also Chief Scientist of Aidyia Limited, a Hong Kong investment management firm using advanced AI for financial prediction; and he serves as Chairman of the Artificial General Intelligence Society, which hosts the annual AGI research conference series, and the OpenCog Foundation, an organization leading international development of advanced open source AI tools. Dr. Goertzel is one of the world’s foremost experts in Artificial General Intelligence, a subfield of AI oriented toward creating thinking machines with general cognitive capability at the human level and beyond. He also has decades of expertise applying AI to practical problems in areas ranging from natural language processing and data mining to robotics, video gaming, national security and bioinformatics. Before relocating to Hong Kong in 2011, Dr. Goertzel held executive roles at AI consulting and product development firms in Washington DC (CEO, Chairman and Chief Scientist at Novamente LLC and Biomind LLC) and New York City (CTO at Webmind Inc.). Prior to that, he served as faculty in mathematics at the University of Nevada Las Vegas, in cognitive science as the University of Western Australia, and in computer science at Waikato University in New Zealand, at the City University of New York and at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque. He has published nearly 20 scientific books and well over 100 scientific research papers. Born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and raised mainly in the US, Dr. Goertzel holds a PhD degree in mathematics from Temple University in Philadelphia, USA.

Daniel Miller is the founder of Mute, launched in 1978 with his own 7” single – ‘Warm Leatherette’ under the name The Normal. Since then, Mute has grown into a global group of companies and today, as ever, Miller remains heavily focussed on Mute’s creative output. Daniel Miller’s recent DJing was inspired by an invitation from Karl O’Connor aka Regis who invited him to perform at Berlin’s Berghain. There he caught the bug to play and since has been playing regular techno sets worldwide.

Lily is a non-practicing physician and product manager for a team that works on applying deep learning to medical data, especially medical imaging.
Before Google, Lily was a product manager at Doximity, the “”linkedin”” for physicians, and a co-founder of Nano Precision Medical (NPM), a medical device start-up developing a small implantable drug delivery device. She completed her M.D. and Ph.D. in Bioengineering at the University of California, San Francisco and Berkeley. Lily received her B.S. with honors and distinction in Chemical Engineering from Stanford University.

He was able to gather a top-class team around him, to complement skills he is definitely missing (such as software development).

Julie has over two decades of experience growing digital media companies, launching interactive web sites, deploying mobile apps, and leading online and offline marketing campaigns. She began her career at Penguin Books, publishing learning software for literature among other products.

When we heard about the concept for what3words here at TOA we were blown away. The idea is simple, assign a unique 3-word code to identify a specific 3m² location. Executing this on a scale of 57 trillion squares across the globe, not so much. We are excited to welcome Clare to TOA to learn even more about what3words, as well as her work with NGOs in the UK and abroad.

Bastian is the CEO of Postmates, the on-demand delivery company he co-founded in 2011. The idea for Postmates was originally conceived in 2005 when Bastian was relocating from Munich to London and he struggled with finding a simple solution for moving goods around a city. He later pursued this notion of “ride-sharing for stuff” through AngelPad in San Francisco, where he met his co-founders Sean Plaice and Sam Street. Postmates now operates in 40 US markets.

Prior to Postmates, Bastian co-founded, a real-time tweet curation platform based in London. Before that, at 12snap, he managed marketing budgets for Adidas and Lufthansa and helped many European startups in product related roles. A native of Germany, Bastian now lives in San Francisco.

Pia Frey, 27, is co-founder of Opinary – a venture-backed startup that empowers users to share their opinion online with engagement-technology. Opinary helps publishers and brands to interact with their audiences, understand user’s affinity and collect engagement-based insights. Before she started working full-time for Opinary, she worked as a journalist and editorial product lead for Axel Springer and founded „Pressekompass””, a tool that interactively visualizes opinions and debates.

In 2016, Pia was chosen as one of Germany’s 25 most influential high-potentials in media by „Kress“ and she’s elected as one of Germany’s „Top 30 under 30“ by “”Medium Magazin“. While building her startup, Pia publishes books such as the bestsellers „Der Moralomat“ and „Der Sinnfragenkombinator“.
