Based in New York, Gus focuses on early stage investments in software, services, and media. Prior to Samsung, Gus was a Venture Partner at FirstMark Capital and Co-Founder and COO of Disconnect, a leading consumer privacy software company. Prior to FirstMark and Disconnect, Gus spent 4 years as a VP, SVP, and GM at Spot Runner, a digital video advertising platform whose investors included Battery Ventures, Index Ventures, WPP, and CBS.Gus graduated with a BA in Government from Cornell University and serves on the advisory board of Red Bear Angels, a network of alumni that invest in Cornell-affiliated start-ups.

 


 

 

Sofia Benjumea, Head of Campus Madrid

Sofia is the Head of Campus Madrid, creating a vibrant, transformative and collaborative community where entrepreneurs and tech startups can flourish and grow through meaningful connections, knowledge and unique opportunities. Before joining Google, she was the founding partner and CEO of Spain Startup, organizing what has become the leading startup conference in Southern Europe, South Summit. Sofia is a passionate community builder, a tireless doer and creative thinker. Previously a journalist, she pivoted and returned to Spain with a desire to help build and rebuild by fostering a strong startup ecosystem.

Pawel Schapiro, Partner at TA Ventures

Before joining TA Ventures, Pawel Schapiro was involved in various operational roles at Rocket Internet ventures and was part of the investment team at Creathor Venture. As a Partner at TA, he is responsible for their activities in the DACH region and have been supporting tech companies in SaaS, DeepTech, FinTech, TravelTech, Digital Health and other sectors.
